Quantum Breakthroughs at Every Scale: From Nobel Prizes to Everyday Security

This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics celebrates a milestone that resonates deeply with our work at Krown and our partner Quantum eMotion. Professors Clarke, Devoret, and Martinis were honored for demonstrating macroscopic quantum tunnelling in electrical circuits, pushing the boundaries of what was once thought to be a purely microscopic phenomenon.

Their experiments showed that quantum mechanical effects can operate at human scale, not just inside atoms. It’s a discovery with massive implications for cryptography, computing, and secure communications.

At Quantum eMotion, the team led by Dr. Francis Bellido is commercializing quantum tunnelling in a different way: by building a quantum entropy engine that generates truly random, unreplicable keys using the same quantum tunnelling principles celebrated in this Nobel Prize.
